Simon is a Sydney-based director and creative producer working across narrative film and live performance. His debut short All Good Things won the Emerging Filmmaker Award at the Mardi Gras Film Festival, was shortlisted for the Iris Prize, and nominated for Best Direction in a Short Film at the Australian Directors’ Guild Awards. The film is available to stream on ABC iview.
His latest short film, Sugar, will have its world premiere at Sydney Film Festival 2026, screening in competition in the Dendy Awards for Australian Short Films.
He leads the performance collective someone gay presents, whose breakout show DAVID’S DEAD !! was nominated for Best Direction in an Immersive or Interactive Project at the Australian Directors’ Guild Awards.
Alongside his directing work, he has performed in theatre and on screen, including Sequin in a Blue Room (AACTA-nominated; Audience Award, Sydney Film Festival) and the original production and national tour of A Town Named War Boy (ATYP/Performing Lines). He has worked with companies including Opera Australia, Pan Pan, Performance Space and NIDA, and was a camera operator on Sydney Theatre Company’s production of The Picture of Dorian Gray.
He graduated from AFTRS with a BA in Screen Production and trained at the Atlantic Acting School in New York.
